REGISTRATION OF EVENTS WITH THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM RIVERS STATE.

Quality of events, Safety of entertainment halls and eradication of scammers remain the reasons for the announcement by the Ministry of Tourism. 

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is concerned about the quality of events, the manner in which they are conducted and how much of local content is involved. 

And the venue in which events are held; to avoid any form of building collapse and stampede as a result of over-crowding and unsafe structures.

In this era of fabricated tents with steel roofs, used as events halls, the safety of spectators is of great concern to the ministry, to avoid a possible collapse of building, especially with the high decibels of sound production transmitting through the mega speakers used in most entertainment events. 

 

The ministry only want things to be organized properly so that people will not be using the ministry's name for racketeering and soliciting for funds without the ministry's endorsement. 

However, the ministry believes that the entertainment/hospitality sectors in Rivers State still have noble entrepreneurs that have what it takes to compete, and should be encouraged and protected by government. 

And therefore the ministry desires to know those behind each entertainment event, to ascertain ownership of the title they promote.

This is about due diligence, and the protection of the Port Harcourt entertainment market from scammers and pirates.

 

Finally, it's also important to state clearly that this notice is not about revenue drive, and it's strictly for entrepreneurs in the entertainment and hospitality industry, and does not affect weddings and birthdays as detractors have made the unsuspecting pubic to believe.

AMAECHI IN A BATTLE OF HIS LIFE - Friday, Nuka

To Rotimi Amaechi it doesn’t matter if Rivers State collapses, what is important to him is that he must deliver the entire seat to APC in the coming re-run election on the 10th of December, 2016.

Amaechi who failed in delivering his party the APC in the last March 19th re-run election, has been challenged this time by the cabal to make sure he delivers this time by all means possible.

The cabal who was not happy with Amaechi concerning what happened in the last re-run election, where he failed woefully to deliver the party even after giving him all that he requested for to enable him win the election, yet he failed. Which lead to the cancellation of elections in some LGAs by power from above.

Now, Amaechi is in the battle of his life as the cabal this time has mandated him to make sure he does not fail this time.

In order to fulfill that order by all means, Rivers State APC started the printing of INEC result sheet at No. 12 Isiokpo Street to be used to rig the election. But as karma may have it, they were caught and up till now INEC has said nothing about an offense of this magnitude. The matter is now swept under the carpet.
You will wonder what kind of corruption we are fighting.

No wonder the Governor of Rivers State said INEC has given Amaechi the result sheet for the election. Because nobody can tell how many bags of result sheets has already been removed out from the Printing Press before they were caught.

Just like Rotimi boasted in the March 19th re-run election and still failed, he has also started again. Telling his followers that all the Forces have been handed over to him to command in order to win the election.

Just because of the Electionl, Amaechi has come with his usual ‘Wayo’ of deceiving people with the ‘Ogoni Clean-Up’. Must he only bring up this issue of Ogoni Clean-up during election and forgets about it after election.

This is unacceptable! Rivers and Ogoni People are wiser now!

One thing Amaechi has refused to understand is that majority of Rivers people and its residents has rejected him totally.

We are building a NEW Rivers State together, trying to bring lasting peace to our state and move forward.

Amaechi should leave Rivers State to be in peace and allow a free, fair and credible election.

DAKUKU PETERSIDE, ANOTHER WASTING ONE - By Oraye St. Franklyn

In politics, how people of promise manage to destroy themselves and waste their vantage opportunities is something that will continue to elicit discussions for years to come as it always has done. The name Dakuku Peterside is not unknown in the politics of Rivers State. He is the defeated candidate of the All Progressives Congress at the 2015 General Elections in which he ran for the Governorship of Rivers State.

Although thoroughly browbeaten at the Governorship contest, the young politician unlike a sportsman hasn't taken his defeat fairly. Since his loss, observers have seen Dakuku metamorphose into a bitter and sad man rapidly aging with rage, just like his sponsor and mentor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past governor of Rivers State.

Dakuku, who is the proprietor of Development and Leadership Institute (DLI), which operated from the same 12 Isiokpo Street that is now rocked in an INEC Result Sheets printing scandal, ought reasonably to know that based on his Christian and leadership posturing, society would expect him to know that politics is not do-or-die as he now makes it look. Unfortunately, with the lure for lucre and the challenge on character, the inconvenience of propriety  takes a back seat when push comes to shove for those without enduring maturity and rooted convictions. And it is true, a man's character is not what he professes but what he becomes under the intensity of heat. Dakuku, after all said and done, has lost all the finesse he adorned in the lead up to the last General Elections; and this sadly accounts for why a greater percentage of Rivers people are peeved by his saltless, divisive, aggressive and unnecessarily vicious rhetoric which contrast his appealing mien. So sad.

Dakuku says the Governor of Rivers State has done nothing but patch roads in Rivers State. As laughable as that it, it is worrying to confirm that the former clergyman, as he so claimed, has finally lost his salt. What the Rivers State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, Dakuku's Governor has done and continues to do is out in the open for all to see. The failings of the Amaechi led government, as acknowledged by the Economic Advisory Council set up by the same government, are properly documented. Yet, Dakuku Peterside is proud to condemn the gains recorded so far and commend those failings that pitched that government against the people in spite of the humongous revenue it raked in from the oil boom at the time.

Dakuku Peterside is not the first to lose an election in Rivers State, yet he is going down in history as the one to demonstrate the worst form of remonstration in the history of Rivers State politics, after his mentor, Mr. Amaechi. Ebenezar Isokariari, Prince Tonye Princewill, Nimi Walson-Jack, Charles Harry, Biobele Odesola and many others, to name a few have all ran for and lost their bids, rightly or wrongly, to govern Rivers State. Yet, the heavens didn't fall. If anything, they are contributing to the development of the State and nation in their own ways. It therefore smacks of demonic induction for Dakuku Peterside and his co-travellers like Sody Peterside and Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside to wish that the State be grounded on account of Dakuku's electoral misadventure and successful loss. What could be more selfish?

Let me please emphasise. I do not begrudge  Dakuku or challenge his right to free speech as to say what he pleases and how so. Not at all. His bias is his right. His myopia is his right. His hate is his right. But the decision of who becomes elected into whatever office is beyond his to solely determine. Just like his fate was popularly determined in the last election, that decision will remain the exclusive preserve of the majority collection of Rivers people.

I do believe that what Dakuku owes himself is truth and comportment like his leader, by my ranking, Dr. Dawari Ibiateli George, in order to avoid going down the same slope as his mentor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, whom he has every reason to be far better than.

RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT BEGINS NEW PHASE OF PROJECTS

As part of the commitment of the Nyesom Wike Administration to develop all parts of Rivers State, Governor Wike will flag-off a range of projects across the State.
According to a statement released by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, the flag-off activities will begin on Wednesday, 23rd November, 2016 with the construction of Olakwor-Afara-Nihi Road.
The Governor will also flag-off the rehabilitation of Okrika Internal Road in Okochiri, Okrika, on Thursday 24th November, while the reconstruction of the Igbo-Etche Road, will be on Friday 25th November, 2016.
Other roads to be flagged-off include Chokocho-Umuechem-Ozuzu Road, on Friday, 2nd December, and the flag-off of the completion of the abandoned Andoni-Opobo-Nkoro Unity Road, on Tuesday, 6th December, 2016.
Governor Wike will round-off the series of project flag-off activities with the reconstruction of the Elimgbu-Atali Road, on Friday 9th December, 2016.
Dr. Tam-George restated the determination of the Rivers State Government, to make the development of the State a non-negotiable priority of the Wike Administration.

MMM-Nigeria donates relief materials worth N5 million to IDPs in Abuja

‘MMM-Nigeria’, a community of mutual financial aid and donations, on Saturday donated relief materials worth N5 million to two Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the Federal Capital Territory.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the gesture was part of the community’s humanitarian week tagged ‘MMM cares’ to mark its one year anniversary.

The Gwoza and Bama IDP Camp located in Durumi area and the New Kuchingoro IDP camp were the two beneficiaries of the relief materials. Bags of rice, beans, garri, as well as cartoons of beverages and noodles, were some of the items donated by the group. The group also donated clothing, drugs, and educational materials for the pupils among them.

Mr Seyi Bello, a Guilder in the ‘MMM Community’ said the donation was motivated by the desire of the group to affect the society positively, especially the less-privileged. “We are marking our first year anniversary and we have decided to come and celebrate it with our brothers, mothers and children in the camp. “As a community, we do not only provide help to our members, we also extend that to the larger society as part of our social responsibility.

“In these times of economic challenges, the IDPs are the ones that need help and support more than any other person; that is why we visited them today,” he said. Bello explained that besides providing help and donations to its members, humanitarian service was a flagship programme of the group. He said that the relief items were bought from free-will donations of members in their quest to touch lives positively.

He said: “The N5 million was raised from voluntary donations my members in the FCT. “That is what defines us as a community of people providing financial help to each other on the principle of reciprocity and benevolence. “In MMM there are no lenders and no debtors. One participant asks for help, another one helps.’’

Bello appealed to individuals, groups and corporate bodies to always remember the IDPs across Nigeria, since government alone would not be able to provide for them adequately. “They are our brothers and sisters who have left the comfort of their homes and are now struggling for survival here.

“No matter how little, let us always extend a hand of help to them to complement what government and other donors are doing, “he urged. Mr Enoch Yohanna, General Secretary of the IDP camp at New Kuchingoro, who received the items, expressed gratitude for the gesture which he described as `timely.’

“The Christmas season is very close; we thank MMM-Nigeria for bringing these items to us. “We hope to share them satisfactorily among us for everybody to be happy and have a happy Christmas celebration, “he said. NAN reports that the visit to the IDPs camps was preceded by a two-hour environmental sanitation by members of the group on Nyanya/Mararaba route, a suburb of the FCT. Members of the group came out in their numbers to clear garbage from drainages and streets in the area.

INEC again suspends Rivers re-run election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has once more, put on hold all actions concerning elections into federal and state Assembly in Rivers State.

The electoral umpire said it awaits the receipt of a comprehensive report from its Field Officials and Monitors on the state of security in the affected constituencies.

INEC said the suspension does not affect areas where the exercise has been done and the results declared by the Returning Officers.

INEC’s Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, in a statement on Wednesday night said, “Pursuant to the Orders of the Court of Appeal, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted elections into various seats in both the National and the Rivers State House of Assembly yesterday, the 19th of March, 2016.

“Rather unfortunately, some of these elections witnessed the disruption of the process, including the barricading of some of the INEC Local Government offices and Registration Area Centres (RACs) used for the distribution of Electoral materials which led to the late commencement of the exercise in some places and consequently, its smooth take off.

“Of more serious concern was the level of threats, violence and intimidation of election officials and voters by well armed thugs and miscreants allegedly acting on behalf of some politicians, which marred the elections in some areas.

“ There were reports of numerous attacks resulting in fatalities, kidnappings, ballot snatching, diversion of officials and materials, amongst others, which necessitated its suspension in 8 Local Government Areas.

“Regrettably, such deviant behaviour has continued today. Several permanent and ad hoc staff engaged have been attacked, again resulting in fatalities, while some have been forcibly abducted and taken to presently unknown destinations.

“Under such difficult circumstance, the Returning Officers were only able to collate and declare results in 1 Federal and 9 State constituencies where the disruption and malpractices were not so widespread.

“Having reviewed the situation, the Commission is compelled to suspend all further action concerning the exercise in all the other constituencies in the State pending the receipt of a comprehensive report from its Field Officials and Monitors.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it should be noted that the suspension does not affect the constituencies where the exercise has been completed and the results declared by the Returning Officers.”

#RIVERSRERUN: HELP-MATE CONSULT LTD'S FILE MISSING FROM CORPORATE AFFAIRS COMMISSION

Officials of Nigeria's  Corporate Affairs Commission  (CAC) have confirmed that the company files of Help-Mate Consult Limited, believed to be owned by Mr. Dakuku Peterside, the defeated APC Gubernatorial candidate of Rivers State and current Director General of NIMASA, are missing.

Help-Mate Consult Ltd, the official APC Printing Press contracted to produce INEC Result Sheets, was stormed by eagle-eyed officers of the Nigerian Police and apprehended while producing results sheets for INEC. Although INEC has since distanced itself from the APC printing syndicate, it has been unable to explain how the syndicate got the security codes and polling unit numbers which have not been officially communicated the Parties contesting the elections by the Commission.

Meanwhile in spite of the litany of accusations, Mr. Dakuku has neither denied ownership of No. 12 Isiokpo Street D-Line Port Harcourt nor of Help-Mate Consult, the multimillion naira Printing Press which operates from it.

As at the time of writing this post, 2 weeks since the busting of the criminal syndicate, the APC controlled Federal Government, said to be fighting corruption, has made no statement on the issue or taken steps to ascertain the veracity of the various claims.

We Are Investigating MMM Ponzi Scheme - EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed ongoing surveillance on the MMM investment scheme.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, gave this indication in an interview with DAILY POST on the sidelines of a training programme in Port Harcourt.

Uwujaren, however, said the House of Representatives cannot direct the EFCC to investigate what he described as faceless wonder bank like MMM.


He said the anti-graft agency was also watching other online schemes that promise huge returns on investments.

The EFCC spokesman said preliminary investigations have shown that such online schemes thrive in countries that are facing economic recession.


He warned that there was big chance of desperate subscribers on such platforms of losing their investments.

“We can only arrest people based on the evidence that we have. The House made a resolution but the resolution is a public announcement.


“We have always been advising people not to patronize wonder banks because experience over time has shown that their activities are not sustainable.

“If you get involved in it, you will eventually get hurt. What we are currently doing is to sensitize people. We know people want to make quick money as a result of recession through this MMM.

“The unfortunate thing about this MMM is that it is not a Nigerian firm but we are looking at and we will still tell the media whatever we find out,” Uwujaren said.

Dr Tam-George said Mr Amaechi's nefarious legacy as the former governor  of Rivers State would continue to stand as a testament against the APC in the hearts of the people of the State.

This happened to my friend yesterday, she was matched with a guy who was supposed to pay her on mmm, on the day he is to pay, the guy called her to tell her that he was going to pay her that he is in the bank so few minuets later, she got a credit alert text. Then immediately the guy called her to ask her to please confirm his payment she agreed to do that. While she was trying to log in, she was missing her captcha so she decided to use another browser, while she was trying to load the browser a thought came to her to even check her account balance. She went to the text she got and found out that her total account balance is missing. She was confused coz its unlikely for Gtb to send u credit alert and not include ur balance. Then the guy called back. She told him she is trying to verify something that she will confirm when she is done, the guy tried persuading her to buy thank God she didn't. She went to the ATM that evening and Lo and behold the money wasn't in her account. The message she saw was a bulk SMS constructed like a bank alert that was why her account balance wasn't there. Imagine how many people this guy must have scamed and get away with it. If she had confirm him, there is nothing mmm could have done because the guy had been confirmed already. So please let's be smart. Make sure ur account balance reflect in ur credit alert before confirming. Thanks

'US President-elect, Donald Trump to attend Sir Emeka Offor’s father burial in Anambra'

Anambra State born oil magnet oil magnate, Chief Emeka Offor on Sunday warned pickpockets to steer clear of the funeral of his father, Chief Bennett Offor that will hold this week at Oraifite, Anambra State.

According to Sir Offor, “my father served the Nigerian Police meritoriously and retired after 35 years of service, so nobody will be allowed to come here and mess up his funeral. Bizarre! Footballer Kills Referee on The Pitch For Showing Him Red Card

A footballer in Mexico is accused of inadvertently killing a referee after being sent off during an amateur fixture in Tulancingo.

The Sunday league contest, taking place in the state of Hildalgo, was marred by an incident sparked by the brandishing of a red card.

Ruben Rivera Vazquez allegedly became so incensed with the decision that he head-butted the match official, Victor Trejo – as reported by local news outlet Criterion Hidalgo.

Paramedics on hand rushed to the scene, initially believing that the victim had fainted, but they were unable to revive him.

According to emergency services, the referee died of a ‘widespread subarachnoid hematoma’, which was caused by a significant blow to the head.

The alleged perpetrator is now on the run from authorities after fleeing the scene.

AMAECHI IN UBIMA TO DECEIVE THEM AGAIN BECAUSE OF ELECTION

Amaechi who ought to be a light to his people, eventually turns absolute darkness, instances abound.

Risonpalm that was there before the birth of so many and that ought to have provided job opportunities for the people of Ubima was sold by Amaechi when he was the governor of Rivers State.

Instead of him to build am empire, he destroyed and disposed the existing empire.

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a minister of Transport, proudly told an Isiokpo man (Name Withheld) who came to his office in Abuja few weeks ago to look for job that he "Amaechi " has seven (7) graduates without job eating his food at home, how can such a man now offer jobs to his people whereas he was a speaker for 8years, Governor for 8years and yet Ubima is like a home of nobody, nothing to show for in his own hometown.

Prior to the 2015 general elections, he made a journey to Ubima where he made a promise of giving 2000 jobs to his people which he never did and now he is at it again.

Amaechi who has totally forgotten his people since he became minister, has recommended some persons for appointments but has never seen an Ubima person as being qualified.

A situation that has made many to ask, if he is truly from Ubima.

We also gathered that, Amaechi this evening gave the people of Ubima Three Million (N3,000,000.00) Naira and told them that it has been long he did Christmas for them and promised them "that this festive period, they will smile ".

Believing he has heard of the empowerment of his people by the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ikwerre LGA, which is his LGA, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike.

Ubima people wake-up, don't be deceived by Amaechi again and again. Especially in this all inclusive and proactive government of His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON.

One question to Amaechi; Why do you only remember Ubima people only during elections and to forget them after the election?

"Soyinka risks jail term of three to seven years if he cuts green card"-Legal expert

A legal luminary, Mr Kayode Ajulo, has cautioned Nigerian Nobel Literature Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, against carrying his threat to destroy his American Green Card in protest of Donald Trump’s victory at the U.S. Presidential election.

Ajulo gave the advice on Thursday in Abuja.

It was reported that Soyinka issued the threat to destroy his American Citizen’s Card before voting begun in the keenly contested election between Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Most people around the World, including some huge population of Americans, had wished for the Democratic Party’s candidate to win the race to the White House.

The election of the Republic candidate as the U.S. President-elect had sent some waves of shock to most countries.

Reacting to the threat, Ajulo warned Soyinka that he risked a jail term of three to seven years, if he (Soyinka) cut his green card.

“I have no problem with Kogi; he is an opinion moulder, an elder statesman and nation builder, who should know the implication of such act.

“Under the American law losing or having your U.S. green card destroyed can be a serious problem,’’ he said.

He said legally such is tagged as wishful destruction of government’s property.

Ajulo said the truth is that Soyinka is far better and far bigger than that because such act is provocative and unacceptable.

He stressed that the literary icon is free to leave the country but does not have to tear the card; instead he should return the card as required by the law.

Ajulo said the 82-year-old author, who is currently a resident scholar at New York University’s Institute of African American Affairs, should know better.

He said it has a lot of implications for Nigerians.

Ajulo said green cards or passports are valuable documents and should be looked after it with care.

He said mishandling of passport could stop you from travelling not to talk of destroying green card.

Ajulo described Soyinka as a good ambassador who cares not just about Nigeria but the world at large, advising him to keep to it.

He said Trump’s victory had “brought an already teetering world closer to the precipice.

“Trump’s wall is already under construction. Walls are built in the mind, and Trump has erected walls, not only across the mental landscape of America, but across the global landscape,” said the lawyer.

Soyinka pledged to keep a promise he had given a few days before the Nov. 8 election, when he told students at Oxford University that “I will cut my green card myself and start packing up” if Trump won the polls.

The literary icon also vowed to leave the United States by Jan. 20, 2017, the day president-elect Donald Trump will be inaugurated.

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Admission into 69th Regular Course 2017

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) - This is to inform the general public that online application for admission into the 69th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna will be available from 8th November to 28th February 2017. Admission into NDA is open to both Male and Female Nigerians.

Examination Date and Requirements

The examination will be conducted as an Entrance Examination and it is scheduled to hold on Saturday 22 April 2017.
Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Examination Centre on the examination date.
The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back.
Only successful candidates at the NDA Entrance Examination will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

Nature and Duration of Training

Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years.
On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA).
They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Administration

All Regular Course cadets will train in NDA and the cost of their administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.

In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers to interested candidates which can be purchased from the Academy Registry, NDA.

Requirements for Admission into Academic Departments of the Nigerian Defence Academy

1.) To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), a candidate must have the following:
Minimum of 5 credit passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) or GCE ‘O’ Level obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of their choices.
Credit in English Language and Mathematics.
At least two supporting relevant credits to the compulsory credits  in Faculty of Military Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences while that of Faculty of Science is shown in the columns for compulsory and relevant credits. However, only one supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.
Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old as at the month of August in the year of entry into the Academy (2018). Note that candidates who desire to join the Nigerian Air Force must be between 17 and 18 years old at entry, and also the Nigerian Army has suspended the enlistment of female candidates in her Regular Combatant programme in NDA.
Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.58 metres for female.
Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.
Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.
Present a Certificate of State of Origin obtained from a Local
Government Area or a Certificate of State Indigeneship from the Office of the State Governor.
Working knowledge of French Language will be an added advantage.
2.) Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:
Candidates awaiting results are not qualified. Application forms submitted without results will not be accepted.
Only examination results of not more than 5 years old from the date of examination will be accepted.
Currently, admission into the Academy is for both male and female Nigerians only, and is limited to Navy and Air Force in the case of female candidates.

Reps ask security agencies to arrest ‘MMM’promoters

The House of Representatives on Wednesday asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Central Bank of Nigeria to immediately go after the promoters Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, otherwise known as ‘MMM’ in Nigeria.

Lawmakers strongly opposed the investment scheme, which lately gained popularity among Nigerians in the wake of the current economic recession in the country.

MMM promises 30 per cent return on investment for any money put into the scheme within 30 days.

The investment scheme has a Russian origin and “involves directing clients to make money available for an anonymous person with a promise of 30 per cent return within one month.”

But, members described the scheme as a “scam” and warned Nigerians not to be carried away by the “mouth-watering” returns on investments.

Lawmakers warned that the “trick” used by the operators was to attract as many Nigerians as possible to invest substantial amounts of money before the bubble would burst.

The House directed the EFCC, security agencies and the CBN to take urgent steps to halt the scheme before many Nigerians would become victims of the scam.

It also asked its Committees on Banking/Currency and Financial Crimes to investigate the activities of MMM Nigeria Scheme, “with a view to saving Nigerians participating in the scheme from you financial ruin.”

The Chairman, House Committee on Telecommunications, Mr. Saheed Fijabi, had in a motion, drawn the attention of the House to the growing popularity of the scheme among Nigerians.

Fijabi, an All Progressives Congress lawmaker from Oyo State, represents Ibadan-South/West Federal Constituency.

“The scheme entered the Nigerian circle in 2016, capitalising on the high level of unemployment and poverty to deceive unwary Nigerians into falling  prey to their antics”, Fijabi stated.

He said the fact that MMM was not regulated by law or approved by the CBN as a secure business venture, made Nigerians more vulnerable.

US Election: Obama got what he did to Jonathan - Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has hailed the victory of the Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump in the United States of America (USA) election, describing it as “the beginning of a real change in Nigeria because those who imposed the present All Progressives Congress (APC) government on Nigerians just lost out.”

The governor said; “Now that Trump has won, it portends hope for Nigerians that the excesses of the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government will stop as the road has ended for those who conspired to impose Buhari on Nigerians.”

Reacting to Trump’s victory, Special Assistant to the Governor of Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka quoted the governor as saying in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday that he believed that Trump will be able to tell President Buhari to respect rule of law and sit at home to solve the country's economic problems instead of junketing around the world.

It has come to our notice the unscrupulous and unfounded post made by one impostor called Mr. Akani Walter, purporting an endorsement of one lazy and louse old Hon. Andrew Uchendu by the CTC chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA Prince (Hon) Onunwo Collins.

We therefore refute this statement and  categorically deny the post in its entirety as it is an ill   conceived imagination of the opposition and politically motivated to concoct, decimate and cause disaffection amongst PDP block.

We urge the general public to totally disregard this post, as it is the ranting of a busy body political jobber and  drowning man.

Prince Collins Onunwo never in any time issue any political statement relating to any person much less an APC chieftain, neither did he attend any campaign or gathering of old scavengers.

Prince Onunwo is a staunch and committed PDP loyalist and his unflinching support for the return of Senator George Thompson Sekibo to the red chambers is not in doubt. 

Moreover, Obio/Akpor Local Government is done and dusted for the distinguished Senator Sekibo.

How Donald Trump won — CNN

From the beginning, everyone underestimated Donald Trump. He pulled off a stunning victory after the most unprecedented of presidential campaigns.

Trump channeled the fury of average Americans against Washington. He tapped into their anxiety about the present and the fear of the future. He spoke to the pain they felt about working hard and getting left behind.
And in doing so, he eviscerated every convention about politics.


The pundits thought Trump's reality show antics, his vulgar rhetoric, speeches filled with falsehoods and insults thrown at almost every sector of American society -- Latinos, African Americans, war heroes, women and Muslims -- would disqualify him from the presidency.
It didn't.
Instead Trump marshaled a movement -- a modern day uprising of forgotten Americans, reminiscent of Richard Nixon's "silent majority" of the late 1960s.

He argued that Americans were hungering for change and that he alone could "drain the swamp" by sweeping away corruption in Washington.

Trump said he would change the complexion of the electoral map -- putting Democratic states in the decaying industrial Midwest into the Republican column with his anti-trade rhetoric. He did.
He said he could humble the most talented Republican field in a generation: He did.
He said he could teach Republicans to beat their nemesis -- the Clintons. He did.

He said the polls were wrong and that he would pull off a surprise that would dwarf the shocking poll-defying Brexit vote in the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. And he was right.
Trump's rewriting of the rules of politics could usher in a period of global turmoil and uncertainty, as US allies, foreign markets and the Americans who were revolted by his behavior during the campaign look to the future with deep anxiety.

The question now, is when he becomes the most powerful man in the world in January, whether Trump will try to rewrite the rules and conventions of American government and the international system, just as fundamentally as he rewrote the rules of American presidential elections.

Trump pledged unity during a victory speech in the early morning hours Wednesday.
"I say it is time for us to come together as one united people," he said. "I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans."
Still, Trump pulled off one of the most staggering upsets in the history of Western democracy.

As recently as a month ago, pundits were still contemplating the possibility of a Hillary Clinton landslide. But the polls began to tighten, returning the race to a more accurate reflection of a deeply polarized country.

Then came uncertainty as FBI Director James Comey cast a new cloud of suspicion over Clinton's campaign, reopening a review of emails tied to her server.
Clinton allies said the damage was undeniable -- their hope of swaying those final persuadable Republican women and independents -- suddenly looked bleaker.

As late as this weekend, the polls suggested Trump would have to run a near perfect race and chart a very narrow path to the White House, essentially pulling an inside straight.

Somehow the candidate -- who relied almost entirely on the Republican National Committee for his ground game -- outmanned the Clinton campaign.
The results Tuesday night stunned strategists from both parties. Many of the supporters who had gathered for Clinton's celebration in New York were shocked, some of them crying as they watched the states roll in for Trump.

Early on Tuesday, Obama's former chief strategist, David Plouffe, tweeted a picture of vodka and Orange Crush, with the optimistic message: "Ready to watch her victory speech."

Eight hours later, Plouffe tweeted that he had never "been as wrong on anything" in his life. "Still a beating heart in WI, and the two (congressional districts in Nebraska and Maine). But sobriety about what happened tonight is essential."

While Trump fueled an enormous amount of enthusiasm among working class voters and brought many new voters to the polls, many Republicans were also quick to credit the RNC, which essentially ran Trump's entire ground game.

One Republican strategist noted that unlike in past campaigns, the GOP had permanent staff on the ground since the summer of 2013 in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada.

Working off the model of what the Obama campaign had done in 2008 and 2012, they spent the early days recruiting organizers and volunteers, testing their GOTV prowess in 2014.

Over the past three years, they plowed money into voter registration and field staff -- flipping ten counties in Florida, for example, from a Democratic advantage to a Republican advantage. GOP aides said they cut the voter registration disadvantage that Mitt Romney had in 2012 by half.

Around the time of the Republican National Convention, the Trump campaign and the RNC forged an awkward alliance. Instead of building their own ground game, the Trump campaign looked at the infrastructure that the RNC had built to support the Republican nominee and agreed to work within that framework.

Many of the voters drawn to Trump's campaign were new to the political process. So throughout the year, the RNC conducted countless trainings for phonebanking and door-knocking.

UNMASKING THE APC/INEC RESULT SHEETS PRINTER AMIDST THE GALE OF RAGING MISINFORMATION

A lot has been said about the unlawful printing of sensitive materials for #RiversRerun by the All Progressives Congress  (APC), believedly on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which is now calling for the prosecution of the culprits. At the center of the syndicate is Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside, a cousin to Mr. Dakuku Peterside, the defeated APC Gubernatorial candidate of Rivers State, and believedly as mooted in some quarters, the sole sponsor of the printing business.

This piece seeks to x-ray the person at the center of the scandal, Deacon Dimieari-Peterside, now being primed as the fall guy and sacrificial lamb of the APC in a bid to establish whether or not he is politically exposed as denied by both himself and the leadership of the APC in Rivers State.

Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside, born on the 26th day of September, 1966 is senior to his cousin, Dakuku Peterside, and began his foray into partisan politics as far back as the zero party era of then Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, in 1996, when he was the Revenue Committee Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro local government area.

Apart from once being a member of the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN), Deacon Atonyesia was a founding member of Vanguard of Opobo Nation (VON) along with Dr. Sam Sam-Jaja, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja and Dr. Dakuku Peterside. VON, a socio-political organisation of the Opobo people of Rivers State, was a rallying point for galvanising the aspiration and participation of the people in the politics of Rivers State and was often at loggerheads with a group allegedly sponsored by a one-time Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Sir G.T.G Toby.

While at VON, he was a contributing Editor and was said to be once arrested by the State Security Services for writing a defamatory story against a certain Milliscent Jaja, the then CTC Chairperson of his local government area. He had to recant the story via several publications, thereafter.

In 1998, under APP, he ran an unsuccessful bid for the Opobo/Nkoro House of Assembly seat and recontested in 2011 under PDP and came a close second in the race.

While it is generally believed in some quarters that his engagement as Special Assistant to the then Deputy Governor and a kinsman of his, Sir Gabriel T. G. Toby was in compensation for his failed bid, as was often the practice at the time, others hold the view that his appointment followed his suspension from VON, in which he was Public Relations Officer, for fraternising with the opposing group loyal to Sir G.T.G Toby at the time and was, therefore, the basis for his appointment. He however returned to the fold after Sir G.T.G's term with Dr. Odili as Governor elapsed. 

Under former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, as a   member of the APC, he was appointed a member of the Caretaker Committee of Opobo/Nkoro local government area and went on to become the campaign coordinator of the APC in Opobo/Nkoro LGA and a collation agent of the APC at the 2015 Governorship Election contested by his junior cousin, Dakuku Peterside.

Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside is a devout Christian and a friend of many across Party lines. The insinuation by the Rivers State Chairman of the APC that he is a thug being used to frame the Party, and unknown to the Party, is most unfortunate and intended to sacrifice him in the interest of keeping the Party afloat. Although in a radio interview, a man mentioned to be at the heart of this entire scandal who may possibly be the Chief of the syndicate and believed to be at large, Mr. Emma Chinda, while acknowledging his acquaintance to Deacon Atonyesia, completely denies engaging him in the criminal enterprise of printing INEC Result sheets for the Rivers Rerun elections.

Atonyesia, who has confessed and made statements to printing the said materials appears to being already primed as the fall guy. But in the face of the many denials by APC Chieftains, especially Mr. Emma Chinda, the spotlight is beamed on Dr. Dakuku Peterside, who has not only not denied ownership of the building that houses the Printing Press, believed to be also set up by him, but the fact that for many years he also operated out of that same building. It has been said in some quarters, that it is impossible for Dakuku Peterside, given the consistent coincidences, to claim oblivion of the goings-on in that building and Press Office. There is bound to be more he knows. While indeed, it is only Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside's confession that invites Emma Chinda into the matter, there's more that pegs Dakuku to it, including but not limited to the reluctance of Deacon Peterside to give his own name as less than what it truly was, shielding his identity as a Peterside to merely being Peters, in order to, as presumed, protect the identity of another Peterside.

It should also be noted that while nothing invites Sen. Magnus Abe to the scandal and crime, the entirety of the scheme was to be for his benefit as most of the printed result sheets were for his Senatorial District, which remains the prime target of the APC against the will and mandate of Rivers people.

As the rage from all sides fires on, one thing is certian, the last has not been heard of these scandalous criminality championed by the APC, a Political Party that promised sweeping change and an end to corruption.  What an irony.

Prophet TB Joshua prophesies winner of US election

Prophet TB Joshua has declared that Hillary Clinton will win the American presidential election in a ‘narrow victory’ against her Republican rival Donald Trump.

With the attention of the world surrounding the contentious American elections slated for Tuesday November 8th 2016, the Nigerian cleric prophesied that the female candidate would win the coveted position.

Speaking to a packed congregation at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday 6th November 2016, a service broadcast live to millions more on the popular Christian channel Emmanuel TV, Joshua said he saw the outcome in a ‘vision’ 10 days ago.

“Ten days ago, I saw the new President of America with a narrow win,” the cleric, who is renowned for his controversial prophetic abilities, began. 

He described several ensuing challenges that would be faced by the new President, including “attempts to possibly pass a vote of no confidence” amidst difficulties in the passing of bills. “The boat of the new President will be rocked,” he described.

Despite his initial parabolic language, Joshua later clarified that he saw Hillary Clinton claim a hard-fought victory. “In order not to keep you in suspense, what I frankly saw is a woman,” he stated, in a message subsequently posted to his official Facebook page followed by over 2.5 million people.

Joshua, however, lauded Clinton’s outspoken opponent Donald Trump. “I want to salute the opposition – a very strong man and courageous. He is my friend because he is very, very courageous. Challenges don’t mean anything to him. The more they abuse him, the more he comes out to talk and smile.”

With several predictions circulating online which forecast a positive outcome for Trump, Joshua clarified that such visions may have been seen at an earlier date. “The men of God that said opposite – maybe they saw it 15 days ago,” he explained.

Joshua went further to reveal that two states would be instrumental in Clinton’s impending victory at the polls.

It was the cleric’s first appearance in his church following a four-month absence interspersed with crusades in South Korea and Peru.

“Challenges determine where you are spiritually,” he told the faithful earlier in a sermon. “How you react under pressure is how the real you reacts.”

He is on record to have predicted major world events including the death of iconic pop legend Michael Jackson, ISIS-inspired terror incidents in Paris and the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370.

APC AND THE JUSTIFICATION OF NONSENSE - By Oraye St. Franklyn

I'm sure I'm as appalled and irritated as a good number of you out there, seeing the unintelligent concoction of nonsense as justification for nonsense, in the face of a glaring act of criminality by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State in printing election result sheets on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for an election that the APC is also contesting.

I mean, what could be more damning and damaging of the values of a political party and the society governed by it, to find it excusing acts of criminality and trivialising high crimes that do not only undermine democracy but challenge the very integrity of such a society?

Prominent members of the APC were caught red-handed and named as collaborators in the criminal act of printing fake result sheets for INEC. There is a confession video to that effect. There are inconsistencies in the confession narratives, which prompt the necessary suspicion of an attempt to cover up a crime. There is a further attempt of culprits to misrepresent themselves to the public by not giving out their real names, which itself is intended, believedly, to protect the identity of major collaborators of this high crime.

In spite of the above established facts, ill-bred citizens and  enemies of democracy are excusing the crime as a set up and propaganda by the Peoples Democratic Party to malign and frameup members of the APC in order to stop the election of Mr. Magnus Abe who is running for Senate in the major Senatorial Zone affected by this result printing scandal.

Good gracious God. How can that be?

Was it the PDP that told a prominent member of the APC, Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside to give out his name as Mr. Atonye Peters?

Was it the PDP that told him to mention the name of Mr. Emma Chinda, a fellow member of the APC and Former Commissioner for Agriculture under Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, as his collaborator?

Was it the PDP that told Mr. Atonye Peters, sorry, Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside, brother to Mr. Dakuku Peterside, the defeated APC Gubernatorial candidate of Rivers State, to claim that the printed materials were for a pending Tribunal case, when clearly no material for the only ongoing case, which is the House of Assembly seat for Opobo/Nkoro, was sighted among the lot? We saw result sheets from Khana, Asari Toru and 5 other LGAs in the videos but none from Opobo.

Let's even agree for the sake of momentarily excusing the pervading foolishness, that the materials were truly for nonexistent Tribunal cases, does anyone need to print fresh results sheets for a tribunal matter that was about an already conducted election?

If the Printer was commissioned to reprint copies of results for already concluded elections, AS HE SAID BY HIMSELF IN THE VIDEO, how come none was sighted?

What then was accountable for the bags of printed result sheets for yet to be conducted rerun elections in Rivers State that were found with and obtained from Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside?

Can you see the foolishness that the Rivers State APC Chairman, along with the colony of the defunct, is excusing and by effect justifying? Is this not beyond shame?

If they claim to be set up, are they admitting  that what Deacon Atonyesia Dimieari-Peterside is accused of was a crime? Have they submitted so?

Not really. From all we see, they are talking nonsense in justification of nonsense in the face of incontrovertible facts that weaken their unintelligent rhetoric. Really sad for Nigeria's democracy. Really sad that under President Buhari we've descended this low. So very unfortunate...AND SOMEONE IS ACCUSING JONATHAN OF WHAT?

BREAKING NEW! RIVERS RERUN : POLICE BURST FAKE RESULT SHEETS PRINTING SYNDICATE FOR RIVERS SOUTH-EAST

Plot by the agents of the Rivers APC to rig the forthcoming Rivers South-East Senatorial District has been uncovered as the Police on Saturday bursted a fake result sheets printing syndicate in Port Harcourt .

The Printing Press, Help-Mate Consult located at 12 Isiokpo Street D-Line Port Harcourt was printing fake result sheets for seven local government areas of the Rivers South-East when the police stormed the facility upon a tip off by a concerned Nigerian.

Mr Magnus Abe is the Rivers South-East APC candidate for the rerun elections .

Director of Help-Mate Consult , Atonye Peters, a prominent member of the APC from Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area claimed that the printing contract was given to him by Mr Emma Chinda, an APC Leader and Former Commissioner for Agriculture under Rotimi Amaechi .

According to him , the printing press has already completed two sets for two local government areas before the police got win of the illegal act.

He was arrested alongside three of his staff, Richard Koko from Okrika, Nanee Godday from Khana and Tammy Garrick.

Items recovered by the police at the printing press include State-of-the-art Printing Machine and computers.

The police also recovered INEC Result Sheets Serial Number Booklets, which the printer used to authenticate the result sheets.

In an interview , Rivers State Chairman Inter-Party Advisory Council , IPAC, Bro Felix Obuah said the arrest of the fake printers of rerun elections result sheets has vindicated the body on the plan INEC and APC to rig the forthcoming rerun elections.

Rivers IPAC Secretary and Chairman Accord Party , Sir Precious Baridoo also condemned the plot to use fake result sheets to rig the rerun elections . He said that the APC and INEC woild be resisted.

Hon. Uchechukwu Ichenwo urged the Police to prosecute all INEC and Rivers APC officials
involved in the printing of the fake rerun elections result sheets.

Also speaking , Chairman of Social Democratic Party , Engr Worlu and Chairman of Nigeria Peoples Party, Deacon Princewill said that on no account should the matter be swept under the carpet by the Federal Authorities.
