Evo of the Ancient Kingdom of Evo & Ogbuga of Woji yesterday 30th
March Kicked off an Empowerment Skill Acquisition Programme.
Eze Chike commended the Governor of
Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his numerous projects in the State
which he said has really shown his love for the state and has proven that he is
truly a Rivers Man & Mr. Project the Golden Governor. And also used the
avenue to thank the Governor for setting up a committee to look into crisis of
traditional institutions.
The Eze recently sponsored a skill Acquisition/Entrepreneurship
programme organized by Miss Rivers State 2016; Miss Chiweoke Havilah Ogbonda
who is also his daughter at Rumuepirikom Kingdom where persons trained on
several skills and the bests amongst them was empowered financially.
His Majesty in his speech said “nobody
can really understand poverty by reading the book, unless you experience it” And
acknowledged that government alone cannot eradicate poverty, and is set to
partner with government in eradicating poverty through youth empowerment
schemes.
Eze Chike Ogbonda who
is youth friendly has also been involved in various youth movement at
leadership levels in the past.
He further directed all
the community youth presidents at the meeting to work out modalities to kick
start the programme without delay, as he will use the training to empower the
youths.
His Majesty thanked
everyone that attended the occasion and promised to work towards making the
ancient kingdom of Evo great and not to fail the youths and the Evo Kingdom and
also thanked the House of Representatives Member Hon. O. K. Chinda and the House
of Assembly Member Hon. Martin Chike Amewhule for the good job they are doing.
In attendance where
paramount Rulers, Chiefs, Elders, Youth Presidents, Women Associations, Youth Organizations,
Friends, Sons and Daughters from Obio/Akpor.
To mention a few are:
- Eze Nyema Wokeh, the Paramount Ruler of Rumuibekwe community
- Chief Sunny Emenike Otubadu, Traditional Ruler of Rumuorgwu community in Rumueme Kingdom
- Chief Chinedu Amadi Dikeogu, Head/Chief of Owhonda/Orluchumwagba village in Rumueme Kingdom; who is also the youngest chief in Rumueme Kingdom
- Eze Loveday Vigwe from Woji Community.
- Chief Fortune N.J. Amadi the youngest chief in Evo Kingdom
Who all advised the youths to take
the Skill Acquisition training coming up soon serious and use the starter pack
that will be given at the end of the training to really begin something meaningful
and not to sell them.

President of Woji Community in his closing remark thanked His Majesty for this
Youth friendly Empowerment Skill Acquisition training and promised him that the
youth Presidents of Evo Kingdom will make sure it goes on successfully; he
thanked everyone for coming and wished them journey mercies back home.
