RIVERS STATE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

On 17 December 1999, in its resolution 54/120 , the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth (Lisbon, 8-12 August 1998) that 12 August be declared International Youth Day. The theme of the 2016 International Youth Day is “ The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production ”. This year’s Youth Day program is about *Achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development . *It focuses on the leading role of young people in ensuring poverty eradication. *And achieving sustainable development through sustainable consumption and production. Sustainable consumption entails the use of products and services that meet the basic needs of communities while safeguarding the needs of future generations. The development and promotion of individual choices and actions that increase the eco-efficiency of consumption of all and minimize waste and pollution is critical to achieving equitable socioeconomic development. This premised the Youth friendly Governor of Rivers State H.E. Chief (Bar) Ezenwo Nyesom Wike (CON) to approve a One Week International Youth Day Program of activities as richly put together by the Ministry of Youth Development giftly Headed by Hon Princewill Ogbubula the only outstanding commissioner of Youth Development in the whole 36 States of the Federation including FCT Abuja, who has successfully taken the Development of Rivers State to the apogee. It is worthwhile to note that, th the State Government through the Ministry of Youth Development have, without any iota of doubt circumductively conducted the International Youth Day program of activities which started on Friday 5th, with Jumait Prayer. Saturday 6th, Youth Interactive session at BONNY Island. Sunday 7th, Interdenominational Thanksgiving and Re-dedication. Monday 8th, UN-Habitants/Youth Technical Session ans Inauguration of UN-HABITANT YOUTH PROGRAM, RIVERS STATE CHAPTER at RSHA Public Hearing Hall. Tuesday 9th, Capacity Building Seminar on Leadership. An Wednesday 10th, Workshop on Sustainable Development. While on Thursday, the 11th a Youth Interactive Session with the Governor of Rivers State at the Obi Wali lnternational Conference Centre. Friday 12th of August, (a) State Media broadcast, (b) Grand finale at Isaac Noel park Port Harcourt (c) Praise Concert at the Royal House of Grace Int'l Church GRA Port Harcourt. As obviously proven by all standard that, When You have spirited Mind like Nyesome WIKE as a Team Coach, all his players will put a good performance as a Team to get the needed Result. "Hence the superlative performance of Hon Princewill Ogbubula as the Commissioner of Youth 

Development."
