The S.S.G. thanked God for his survival in the hands of the APC induced military which arrested him in heat of the March 19th rerun legislative elections on purported charges of bridge of electoral process. The S.S.G. regreted that his ordeal was orchestrated by people who are supposed to be his brothers irrespective of party differences.
He advised the people of Gokana and indeed the people of Rivers South-East Senatorial District not to toy the line of politic of acrimony. He enjoined the teaming audience to use the significance of Christ's death and resurrection to re-evaluate their actions especially in this trying moment.
He emphasised that we should always choose forgiveness against hatred so that we, as a people, can grow beyond our present state of development.
He promised the good people of Gokana that as they celebrate the resurrection of Christ, he shall in the spirit of revival as Christ' resurrection implies, liaised with the Commissioner for Finance, Hon.Dr.Fred B.Kpakol, to facilitate the establishment of a commercial Bank in Gokana to ease the stress of the people of Gokana going to Bori before withdrawing money.
Hon. Kobani emphasised that the absence of a bank in Gokana has been a heavy burden on him ever since, hence, he thought that there is no other time to approach the problem other than now.
Hon. Kobani, while using the Easter period to preach peace, regret the increasing spate of incessant communal crises among Gokana communities, which was part of what was inherited from the previous administration of Rotimi Amaechi. He advised the Gokana people to embrace dialogue in resolving boundary dispute.
He told the people of Gokana that the Wike led administration has come up with a new mode of resolving boundary dispute; hence the people should choose a better way of resolving this kind of problem other than resorting to violence.
While reiterating his resolve to facilitate even development in Gokana and indeed Ogoni, he directed the Care-Taker Chairman of Gokana, Hon. Austin Sor, to assess the fault on the 500kVA transformer at Biara so as to see to its repair.
He preached the good message of the Wike administration to the people of Gokana and assured them of the administration's readiness to bring more development to the area.But he reminded them that this can only be achievable in an atmosphere of peace.
He therefore urged the people of Gokana and the entire people of Rivers South East Senatorial District to throw their weight behind the Rivers State Government for effective delivery of the dividends of democracy.
