HRH Eze Princewill Ejike Wali,
The Eze Oha Okporo 1 and the Paramount Ruler of Mgbuesilaru, have been described
as a friend of the students and a lover of education by some members of the Student
Union Government (SUG) of the Rivers State University of Science and
Technology. The Students led by the Secretary General of the SUG, Comr. Nsirim Emmanuel on a courtesy visit to the
Palace of HRH Eze Wali described him as a man of honour and unquestionable
character, also as a man to be relied upon when the need arises.
The students were in the Palace
to inform the Royal father of their forthcoming event put together by the
students tagged ‘YOUTH LEAD AFRICAN PROJECT’ and to formally invite him to the
event as the Royal father and also solicit for his assistance.
Earlier on Comr. Kelvin C. Amadi,
the National President of Obio/Akpor students worldwide who also doubles as the
Committee Chairman of the YOUTH LEAD AFRICAN PROJECT said they were glad to be
associate with the HRH and they are pleased to make him be part of their
initiative to reposition the youth and crave the presence of the HRH. The
Secretary General of the SUG Comr. Nsirim Emmanuel said the YOUTH LEAD AFRICAN
PROJECT is a project designed to change the orientation of the youths and make
them useful in the society through value reorientation.
The SUG Secretary speaking with
Newest Rivers Reporters, said the project will change the way and thinking of the
students in such a way that they will become dependable after school instead of
becoming nuisance to the society.
Mr. Ifeanyi Nwobuluoke the Palace
secretary expressed pleasure with students for finding the Eze worthy of being
part of their activity and used that opportunity to inform the students that
the HRH will be happy that they will join the Eze's entourage to inspect an
ongoing project embarked by the Eze.
At the projects site which is 50
units and 150 unit luxury estates, the Eze said he decided to embark on such
project to key into the initiative of the Rivers State Government led by Chief
Bar. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in solving the problem of accommodation in the state.
He said that he was impressed by His Excellency’s commitment to solving housing
problem; he then decided to contribute his quota in ensuring housing for all in
line with the State Government initiative. He noted that the housing estate
which will be delivered by the end of this year has facilities such as swimming
pool, gym centre, and three standby generating sets.
At the same time the Royal father
said by next year he will embark on another phase of the project which will see
to the delivery of another 1,000 units low housing luxury estate. According to
the Royal father the housing estate will be made affordable to low medium as
well as high income earners.
It will be recalled that Governor
Wike, commissioned 50 units of 3 bedroom flats at Iriebe Housing Estate he started and completed to mark his 100 days
in office.
The Eze expressed gratitude to the Governor of the
state for awarding contract for the rehabilitation of Eneka - Rumunduru -
Eliohani Roads since it will ensure he mobilizes to site to complete an ultra
modern shopping complex one of the largest in the state which will in turn
create jobs to the youths of the state and the country at large.
In response to the students
demand the Royal father assured the students of his presence at the event. He admonished
them to be good ambassadors of the state by taking their education seriously
and eschew every form of violence, cultism and other social vices. The Eze
promised the students to support them in whatever capacity they may need him.
Chief. Vincent N. Nwanula, the
Eze Cheta 1 of Rumucheta Royal Family of Mgbuesilaru Community described the
students’ visit as an indication of the straight-forward life of the Royal
father and urged the students to live an exemplary live.
