Dear fellow Omulgans and friends of Omuma LGA.
I bring you greetings from the Hon. Eze Stanley Nwuju led CTC Commitee.
Be rest assured that the Hon. CTC Chairman and other members of the Committee are working assiduously in actualizing the NEW Rivers Vision of His Excellency Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike in Omuma and make her better for all of us. We are also blessed with the positive will of our Honorable member representing our constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Kelechi Nwogu in this regards, in this light, we are most certain that Omuma would be better.
However, it has become imperative to admonish and appeal to us to be active participants in this process, Omuma is ours. Not un mindful of the dwindling national economy, we must devise means of putting rich foods on our tables, grow our economy and boost agriculture within Omuma. To this end, we implore the support of every Omulgans and that of our friends.
We make bold to say that it is very wrong for an Omulgan who resides in Port Harcourt or its environs to buy staple agricultural products like garri, maize, yam, plantain, non perishable vegetables and other Omuma abundant farm products from other Markets, instead of coming to Omuma to patronize Omuma markets. This we must stop.
Let us come back to Omuma to buy these products. When you buy from Omuma, you boost our economy as an LGA, you encourage our farmers, and empower our traders. Our farmers would now have resources to train their children, our brothers and sisters in school and the chain keeps going.
Interestingly, the prices of agricultural products are very cheap in Omuma, the Omuma standard ( quality) is maintained as compared to the prices and quality of same products in the city. It is just a 40 minutes drive from Omuma Park, Eleme Junction to Eberi, Omuma. The time factor would not really be a challenge.
The Orie Umueze Market( Umuogba) the Ahia Nkwo, Umuoyoro at Ohim/Oyoro are among the many beautiful markets you could come to shop for your direct and processed agricultural products. Food items are so cheap but of the highest quality in these markets. I have personally visited the markets and bought from them.
To my friends who are not from Omuma but resides at Port Harcourt and it's environs, this is a golden opportunity to know Omuma, buy good food and save. A basin of garri, a bunch of plantain, etc in Omuma are far cheaper than what they sell here in the city. Our markets are filled with vegetables and fruits of all sorts. We also have an enticing livestock market. The prices of native goats, sheep's etc are so affordable. If you buy in Omuma, you definitely save more.
I shall be updating us of the Market days and locations of major markets in Omuma where you can do all your food shopping.
Omuma welcomes you.
Buy made in Omuma food items today and save more.
Joshua Obinna Samuel
Chief Press Secretary, CTC
Omuma LGA.
